Dr. Rodriguez-Berrios completed her doctoral degree in Naturopathic medicine (ND) at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (SNCM) in Arizona. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. During her doctoral clinical training, she offered personalized medical care to diverse communities in Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. Combining modern science and traditional healing practices, Dr. Rodriguez-Berrios uses a combination of clinical nutrition, natural and holistic therapies considering the person as a whole (physical, mental, and emotional dimensions).
She has experience in clinical research in microbiology, public health, and the development of culturally appropriate intervention programs for the prevention of health disparities. Her commitment and passion is to motivate individuals and communities to be more conscious of their health through comprehensive and integrative care. Dr. Rodriguez-Berrios has worked directly with communities, and has great interest in clinical research and public health education for the management and prevention of chronic conditions such as diabetes, metabolic disorders and obesity, among other health conditions.
Currently, Dr. Rodriguez-Berrios is focused on developing research initiatives based on the integration of complementary and alternative medicine to promote health and wellness in Puerto Rico and in other countries. Dr. Rodriguez-Berrios is collaborating with Dr. Joshipura in developing a pilot study to understand the role of Yoga in reducing stress and preventing cardiometabolic health conditions.
